Physical Training (PT) is an integral part of ROTC, and cadets are required to attend 2 PT sessions per week. The PT schedule for a typical semester is shown in the About Detachment 490 tab.
In addition to participating in PT twice a week, all cadets are expected to meet height and weight standards and pass the Physical Fitness Asessment (PFA) every semester. The PFA consists of 4 events and points are awarded for performance during each event. A maximum of 100 points can be earned, with a passing score of 75 points. The PFA score charts are documented in Air Force Instruction 36-2905. Check out the AFROTC webpage for more information about the fitness and physical standards.
Air Force Fitness Requirements
The Physical Fitness Test (PFT) is a test taken twice a year (fall and spring terms) while a cadet is enrolled in Air Force ROTC to make sure cadets maintain an acceptable level of fitness.
